Our Programs

Women & Child Empowerment

We offer crucial support to survivors of gender-based violence by providing medical care, psychological counseling, and legal aid. Our integrated approach helps GBV survivors regain their dignity, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources to heal and rebuild their lives.

Our initiatives aim to economically empower women through vocational training, financial literacy courses, and small business support. These programs are crafted to boost women’s economic independence and enable them to play influential roles in their communities.

We prioritize the safety and well-being of children displaced by conflict or disaster by providing safe spaces, psychosocial care, and legal protection. These measures are critical in preserving the integrity and rights of vulnerable children.

Our educational and mentorship programs focus on enabling children, particularly girls, to reach their full potential. We strive to equip them with the skills and opportunities necessary to excel despite the adversities they face.

We establish comprehensive referral pathways to connect women and children with tailored services, ensuring a coordinated and effective response to their specific needs.

Dedicated safe spaces for women and girls provide secure environments where they can receive support services, interact without fear, and find respite from violence and harassment.

We deploy targeted response programs focusing on the most vulnerable women, such as heads of households, survivors of violence, and those in dire economic conditions, providing both immediate assistance and long-term support.

Our programs extend to addressing the critical issue of child soldiers. We work on demobilizing, rehabilitating, and reintegrating these children into their communities, focusing on their psychological recovery and social adaptation. Reunification efforts are central as we strive to safely return these children to their families, restoring their community roles.

We are actively involved in efforts to prevent grave violations against children, including recruitment as soldiers, sexual violence, and abduction. Our advocacy and on-the-ground interventions are designed to protect children from these severe rights infringements and promote a safe environment for their growth and development.

Through these comprehensive initiatives, Aid & Development HANDs is dedicated to building a society where women and children are empowered and free from violence and abuse, contributing to a sustainable and equitable future for all.

Health & Nutrition

Comprehensive Health Care and Nutritional Support in Critical Regions

Aid & Development HANDs is dedicated to providing essential healthcare and nutritional support, especially in underserved or conflict-affected areas where access to these services is often compromised.

We offer essential healthcare services to meet communities’ immediate and ongoing needs. These include general medical care, specialized maternal health services to ensure safe pregnancies and deliveries, and disease prevention initiatives to protect communities from outbreaks and chronic health issues. Our approach prioritizes accessibility and quality care, fostering healthier communities.

Recognizing the devastating impact of malnutrition, we implement targeted feeding programs to nourish children and vulnerable groups who are most at risk. Additionally, we provide comprehensive nutrition education to families and communities, empowering them with knowledge and resources to sustain healthy diets and prevent malnutrition from taking root.

Our mobile clinics travel to remote areas to extend our reach to those who cannot access traditional health facilities. These clinics are equipped to deliver critical health services directly to isolated populations, ensuring that no one is left without essential care. By bringing healthcare to the doorstep of those in need, we bridge the gap between urban medical services and rural health needs, ensuring comprehensive coverage and continuity of care.

Education

Empowering Through Education in Emergencies

Education is essential for recovery and long-term stability, especially in crisis-impacted regions. Aid & Development HANDs, we provide educational opportunities and safeguard the futures of the most vulnerable children during emergencies.

Our efforts include rebuilding schools that have suffered damage or destruction due to conflict or natural disasters, ensuring these spaces are safe and conducive to learning. We also focus on training educators with the skills necessary to deliver high-quality education in challenging environments and provide essential educational materials to keep learning activities ongoing.

To maintain education continuity during emergencies, we establish temporary learning centers and offer psychological support for children affected by trauma. Our flexible schooling programs accommodate the needs of displaced populations, providing stability and a sense of normalcy for children in turmoil. These initiatives are tailored to meet the community’s changing needs and support children’s educational journeys amidst disruptions.

Through PTA training, we empower parents and teachers, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances educational outcomes. This training includes workshops on effective communication, educational advocacy, and how to support children’s learning needs, ensuring that parents and teachers work together to create a supportive educational ecosystem.

Recognizing the importance of holistic education, we offer life skills training to equip children and adolescents with essential skills for daily living and future success. These programs cover critical thinking, interpersonal communication, self-awareness, and resilience, preparing young individuals to face life’s challenges with confidence.

Our child-friendly school initiatives focus on creating inclusive, gender-sensitive, safe, and protective environments for all children. These schools are designed to be engaging and supportive, with curricula that are child-centered, culturally relevant, and conducive to learning and development. This approach ensures that schools are not merely places of learning but also spaces where children feel valued and respected.

WASH

Aid & Development HANDs is committed to improving public health and enhancing the quality of life through comprehensive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programs, especially in communities most vulnerable to health risks.

We prioritize providing access to clean and safe drinking water, which is fundamental to life and critical in preventing waterborne diseases. Our initiatives include constructing and rehabilitating water wells, installing filtration systems, and establishing rainwater harvesting infrastructures. These efforts ensure communities have reliable access to potable water, reducing disease incidence and fostering healthier living conditions.

Understanding the critical link between sanitation and health, we focus on building and maintaining adequate sanitation facilities that meet the needs of communities, particularly in densely populated or underserved areas. This includes constructing environmentally sound and culturally appropriate latrines and sewage disposal systems, helping prevent the spread of infections, and improving overall community health.

Hygiene education is a vital component of our WASH programs. We conduct awareness campaigns and workshops to teach individuals the importance of handwashing, dental care, and personal hygiene practices to prevent illness. These programs are designed to change long-term behaviors and ensure sustainable health benefits.

Our WASH initiatives are quickly mobilized in natural disasters or disease outbreaks to prevent further health complications. We provide emergency water supplies, temporary sanitation facilities, and hygiene kits to affected populations, helping mitigate the crisis’s impact and prevent secondary health emergencies.

We believe in the power of community involvement to ensure the success and sustainability of WASH projects. Engaging local populations in the planning and implementation phases ensures that our interventions are well-suited to the community’s specific needs and preferences, leading to greater ownership and maintenance of WASH facilities.

Through our dedicated WASH sector efforts, Aid & Development HANDs aims to build resilient communities where clean water, proper sanitation, and good hygiene practices are a way of life, leading to sustained health improvements and increased social and economic development.

NFI and Shelter

We distribute essential non-food items that provide immediate relief and support daily living needs for families impacted by conflict or natural disasters. Our distribution kits include blankets to ward off the cold, hygiene kits to prevent disease, cooking utensils to prepare meals, and clothing to protect against the elements. These items are crucial in helping families maintain a sense of normalcy and dignity during times of upheaval.

We provide temporary shelter solutions for displaced families, ensuring they have a safe place to call home while they rebuild their lives. Our commitment extends beyond immediate relief to fostering sustainable, long-term housing solutions. We work diligently to ensure that all shelters are safe, secure, dignified, and culturally appropriate, respecting our communities’ unique needs and values. Focusing on long-term stability, we help pave the way for recovery and resilience, enabling families to transition from survival to sustainable living.

AAid & Development HANDs is actively involved in mine action, working in areas contaminated by landmines and unexploded ordnance to restore safety and support affected communities.

We focus on clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance to make land safe for return and rebuilding. Our land release efforts ensure communities can reclaim and use their land without fear, promoting resettlement and agricultural activities crucial for local development and sustainability.

Our assistance includes medical care to address immediate and long-term injuries, psychological support to help survivors cope with trauma, and economic assistance to foster their reintegration into society and ensure they can lead fulfilling lives despite their injuries.

Education plays a crucial role in preventing landmine accidents. We conduct Mine Risk Education (MRE) programs to raise community awareness about the dangers of landmines. These programs are essential in teaching individuals, especially children, how to recognize mine-contaminated areas and adopt safe behaviors to prevent injuries.
